Field Trips
Our field trips are designed to expose our participants to experiences that can be fun as well as educational. The field trips promote bonding and also give our youth the voice to ask and explore what they are currently interested in.
We are proud to extend an olive branch to our youth’s passions and dreams.
Field Trips Explained
-
Fly Compton Aero Club is a unique program that offered our youth a chance to fly around the city of Compton, empowering them to explore new opportunities. By flying in a plane, our youth can gain a new perspective on their lives, develop confidence and self-esteem, and access educational and career opportunities that might have been out of reach.
-
1500 Sound Academy allowed us the pleasure of a personal tour around their facility. Being exposed to a studio classroom setting provides a unique opportunity for personal growth, skill-building, and creative expression. Our cohort at the time was music driven and this field trip allowed individuals to grow their musical talents, build confidence, and enhance their cognitive abilities, such as memory, spatial-temporal skills, and language development. Additionally, music education can foster social skills, teamwork, and communication, as students work together to further proceed in the direction of their dreams.
-
Team bonding and paintball activities are exciting and fun for youth because they promote social interaction, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while allowing them to release energy and build camaraderie. Paintball, in particular, provides an adrenaline-fueled experience that encourages strategic thinking, quick reflexes, and healthy competition. As they work together to overcome obstacles and defeat their opponents, youth develop essential skills like communication, adaptability, and leadership, making the experience both thrilling and rewarding.

Youth may enjoy field trips to places that foster their sense of adventure, creativity, and curiosity. Some potential options could include visits to local museums or science centers, to explore new ideas and technologies; outdoor adventures like hiking, camping, or kayaking to promote teamwork and environmental awareness; or even hands-on workshops or studios focused on art, music, or coding to develop their creative skills.
